Even though convection vaporizers are considered to produce the best quality vapor, the two most popular vaporizers in the USA are currently PAX 3 Vaporizer and DaVinci IQ Vaporizer – both of them are devices based 100% on conduction. The two competitors are amazing vaporizers – they are compatible with mobile apps, they both come with a 10-year warranty and they have the same price. The list of similarities is long. But what are the differences between PAX 3 and DaVinci IQ? And which model is better?
PAX 3 Vaporizer and DaVinci IQ Vaporizer are direct competitors and each of them wants to get the title of the best portable vaporizer. There are some models that generate a slightly better vapor (e.g. Crafty and Mighty), but if you take all aspects of performance into consideration, PAX 3 and DaVinci IQ remain the two best portable vaporizers on the market. Let’s have a look at the differences between the two devices.
Size, design, production quality
Both vaporizers are rather small – you can easily hide each of them in your hand. DaVinci IQ is a bit shorter but also wider than PAX 3. The design of the two vaporizers is beautiful so aesthetically, they definitely meet the requirements of the users with a sophisticated taste. The production quality is also top notch in both cases – both DaVinci IQ and PAX 3 are made of the highest-quality materials. The case of DaVinci IQ seems a bit more scratch-resistant than the one of PAX 3.
Vaporizer: heating system, heating time, temperature range
Both PAX 3 and DaVinci IQ are vaporizers based 100% on conduction, which means that they heat the herbs through their direct contact with the chamber walls. Depending on the temperature you choose, PAX 3 Vaporizer heats up within 15-25 seconds and DaVinci IQ – within 16-30 seconds. As you can see, the two results are quite similar. PAX 3 has 4 temperature settings, but if you pair it with a special mobile app, you can choose any temperature in the range from 182 to 215 degrees Celsius. DaVinci IQ lets you set any temperature between 120 and 220 degrees Celsius and you can do it with the button on the device, with no need to use a mobile app. DaVinci IQ gives you more freedom in terms of temperature.
Vaporization: vapor quality
The quality of vapor produced by these two models is perfect – always smooth, properly cooled, gentle to your throat and respiratory system. PAX 3 Vaporizer allows for longer sessions than DaVinci IQ Vaporizer. With the latter one, however, the user notes a smaller resistance while taking a draw. It also generates a thicker vapor that maintains the great flavor for longer. In terms of vapor quality, the performance of DaVinci IQ is slightly better. On the other hand, PAX 3 offer the extra option of concentrates vaporization, whereas DaVinci IQ doesn’t have this feature.
Vaporization: efficiency and herb use
Both vaporizers are equally good in terms of the ability to extract the active substances from the herbs. Once you finish the session, the herbs turn brown, which is a sign that their potential has been used to the maximum. In this aspect, both devices do an equally good job. However, PAX 3 wins when it comes to the economical herb use and the saving it translates into. PAX 3 has an advantage over DaVinci IQ because there’s no need to fill the entire chamber – you can fill only half of it (about 0.2 g of ground herbs) and use the Half-Pack lid that’s included in the set. This lid pushed the herb in the chamber and allows for the inhalation with the chamber half-full. What’s more, PAX 3 has an intelligent heating system that cools the device between the draws. DaVinci IQ doesn’t have this option. Even though DaVinci IQ has the chamber of a similar size, it requires a fully loaded chamber, which is about 0.3-0.5 g of ground herbs. In the set, there are no tools that help load only half the chamber, even though such tools are available on the market, yet they are not widely available, and you have to buy them separately. To sum up, PAX 3 Vaporizer lets you enjoy a vaping session with a smaller quantity of herbs, which translates into material savings and makes this model a better solution for solo sessions.
Vaporizer: battery and charging
Even though both models have a battery with the capacity of 3500 mAh, their performance is different. PAX 3 Vaporizer allows for about 100 minutes of constant vaporization on one charge, and DaVinci – max. 90 minutes. The difference is not that big, then. However, you do notice the difference when you look at charging time. PAX 3 needs only 100 minutes to charge 100%, while DaVinci IQ charges for up to 240 minutes (which is 4 hours). On the other hand, the battery in DaVinci IQ is replaceable – you can simply get a spare one and replace the used one with a full battery if need be. Then, you can continue vaping for another 90 minutes. If you evaluate these two models on the basis of what’s included in the original set, PAX 3 definitely wins in terms of battery.
Pax Vapor application lets you pick one of a few inhalation modes (one that stands out is the Efficiency mode that allows for a more economical inhalation), precisely set the temperature and personalize your vaporizer. The application that DaVinci IQ can be paired with has four pre-programmed Smart Paths – inhalation modes that can be fully personalized by the user, which is quite a unique solution. Therefore, the app created for DaVinci IQ is much more interesting and has more to offer.
PAX 3 Vaporizer or DaVinci IQ Vaporizer – which one to choose?
Both vaporizers in question are the absolute world-class leaders. They are great devices that guarantee an unforgettable vaping experience. The most important difference between the two models is that PAX 3 is more efficient, and DaVinci IQ produces a vapor of a slightly better quality. That’s why before you decide to buy one of these two vaporizers, think about which aspect is your priority. Still, we are sure that whichever model you decide to choose – PAX 3 or DaVinci IQ – you will be delighted!
